15th Dec'05 Sunday - Xmas Party
Another great Sunday of sun and fun! Everyone looked so fit and healthly at our cool down, and we celebrated end of year with a Christmas Party (see photos in our gallery). We're all looking forward to a great 2006 race season. Merry Christmas to all, stay safe and we all hope to see Russell without the cane and bandaged foot next year!

11th Dec'05 Sunday
Another beautiful weekend on the water! Our technique and confidence is improving thanks to Jill's land training on Wednesday, and the race starts that have been a great fitness builder over the last two weeks. Our fantastic Sweep, Sue, once again glided the boat perfectly back to shore so we could all enjoy bacon, eggs and scones for breakfast by the river. This is the life!

27th Nov'05 Sunday
Well, what can we say? WET, WET, WET! What a dedicated bunch to go out in the rain today, including new people - thats the kind of insanity we admire. Some may have laughed at Rosalie in her shower cap, but by the end there were a few green eyed wet heads! It was still good to get out on the water, even if it was only half an hour before sense got the better of us and we all headed home to dry out and watch the impending storm. Cheers guys! P.S Check out the 'perfect dragon stroke' and the design of our dragon head in the gallery.

20th Nov'05 Sunday
We're certainly not complaining about the glassy conditions of the Shoalhaven River lately - but we could do without the giant sand bars! Great to see another full boat load, and a very warm welcome to several more newcomers. Norma was wearing the substitute dunce's cap 'lay of flowers' to remind her of last week's dip, but we all joined her in the water today! From the shore it would have been quite surreal to see us all in the middle of the river outside of the boat, but it wasn't long before we were off the sand bar and back to deep water training with only wet feet to show for it. Thanks to Ingrid for the great coaching, and to Jill for the appreciated expert advice. We have taken note of Rule #1: No laying in the boat; and Rule #2: The stop instruction 'Whoooah' works on horses but not dragons.

13th Nov'05 Sunday
What a great day! Perfect weather for dragon boating and a great turnout of 30 people for our first session in the new boat. Thanks to Mel and Amanda from Dragon Boats NSW helping us with technique etc... and to all those who contributed to the sausage sizzle. We had several newbees, Tracey & family, Arthur, Joan, Terry and of course Shane - we hope you all enjoyed yourselves (sorry if we missed anyone). A special mention must be made to Norma, who provided both food and entertainment. Being our first 'female overboard' we hope you enjoyed what was described as a North American bear swim back to land - on ya Norma! Check out the pics from the day at our gallery.

6th Nov '05 Sunday
A big thank you to everyone who turned up on Sunday to help out with the boat preparations. Check out pics of the day in our gallery. Thanks especially to Shane & Russell for all your hard work making that nifty trailer, now we just can't wait to get on the water!

2nd Nov '05 Wednesday
Its official we've started the 2005/06 race season! We have our new boat, our committee members elected and an overflowing spirit for dragon boating! Our meeting on Wednesday 2nd November was very successful with an excellent turn out of familar faces. We will have the the minutes of the meeting out shortly.
