Welcome

Nowra Waterdragons was formed in November 2005. Our club colours are Blue and Yellow. Our members are from a wide variety of backgrounds, ages and fitness levels. We joined together because of our passion for Dragon Boat Racing as well as the enjoyment of each other's company.

Dragonboat Drama.

On Sunday 27th DBNSWs 3 rd round of the season was 500 metre races contested at the

Olympic venue - Penrith Lakes. As Melanie Cantwell from DBNSW stated, it should

have been perfect “with a start pontoon, 13m wide and deep lanes, no currents, no tides,

no power boats …how wrong I was!” Still, the stands were packed and the foreshores

colorful with team marquees and banners in anticipation of the final regatta of 2011.

Summer Training and Session Times

Warm up will commence at the published start time.  If you are bringing along a new paddler or you are a new paddler wishing to join our group, please arrive 10 minutes earlier so that indemnity forms can be signed and safety instructions given prior to warm up.

We train at the Scouts Hall, Paringa Park, Nowra on the Shoalhaven River, rain or shine, except when there is Thunder and Lightning (for safety).

Training sessions are around an hour and a half including warm up and stretch down. You need to wear shorts and a T-shirt in summer and thermals in winter, plus shoes that can get wet. Bring water to avoid dehydration (1 litre or 600ml bottle).

All times are MEETING TIMES AT THE CLUBHOUSE.  If all paddlers are at the clubhouse for warm up at the following times then the coaches and sweeps can determine if a second boat is required and can allocate paddlers to specific boats if required.
